Miriam has just been named a 2016 Leonore Annenberg Fellowship recipient for Performing Arts. She is a 2012 graduate of Yale School of Drama where she earned her MFA in acting and a 2011 Princess Grace recipient of the George C. Wolfe award in Theater. She is most recently made her Yale debut as Posthumous Leonatus in Cymbeline at Yale Rep directed by Obie and fellow Princess Grace winner Evan Yionoulis.

Just before her Yale debut, Hyman made her McCarter debut as Berniece in August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson“. “Miriam A. Hyman, as Berniece, channels, different emotions. She too sizes up the piano but with sorrow and respect. Berniece is the memory and the moral center of the tale, and Ms. Hyman carries that weight with quiet dignity and a rough poets cadence.” – The New York Times
